Women empowerment is a critical aspect of achieving gender equality and breaking stereotypes against women in our country today. Empowering women by giving them equal rights and opportunities contributes to the overall health, wellness and productivity of their families, societies, communities and eventually the nation creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone. Gender equality means that both men and women are free to educate themselves, develop a career in field of their choice, and have equal power and equal opportunities for financial independence and personal development. It also includes that women must have equal access to resources and power and control over their own life inside and outside the home. Yet gender issues are not focused on women only, but also on the relationship between men and women in the society.
Perhaps, the greatest part of feminism is when we as a community, specially, women are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we stand up for each other leaving behind fears, when we refuse to take advantage of another’s weakness. Apart from men, women also must realize that helping, supporting and standing for another woman doesn’t deprive them of their own opportunities or doesn’t take away the blessings coming to them. Rather, it upholds the values of selflessness in the society. Who other than a woman can be expected to understand the sufferings, the dreams and the aspirations of the other women. Being able to stand up for another woman should be considered as an opportunity and the responsibility should be executed on behalf of the entire women community. Helping another woman win, cheering her on, praying for her or sharing resources with her will never deprive you from your own chances of winning.
Strong women are the ones you see building one another up, instead of tearing each other down. When women open to the power of true sisterhood, everyone benefits from the magnetic, healing force that is unleashed.
When women support each other to be the best they can be, the feminine power is amplified. When women join hands and hearts, revolution begins.
